With Race 4 being a rain out, we’re having a hard time getting it re-scheduled prior to the final race of the year – Race 7, the Abu Dhabi GP at Cal Raceway on April 22nd.
That being said, we do have a couple scenarios that at play but would like to get YOUR opinion on them since, you know, you ARE the drivers.
Scenario 1:
We keep the race on Saturday, April 22nd at Cal. We schedule the Race 4 Rain Make-Up Race at a later date (hopefully still at The Lap Factory). That race would then be the final race of the Series.
Scenario 2:
We hold a double header on the April 22nd/23rd weekend. The schedule would be something like this:
– Saturday, April 22nd: We would run practice until about noon. At that time, we switch the track direction until about 3. At 3:30 we would run qualifying for Sunday’s race (times are fluid at this moment).
– Sunday, April 23rd: Track opens early with minimal practice (maybe 15/20/30 for LMP/F2/F1). We run the Race 4 ‘Rain Make Up Race’. We then reset the track in the opposite direction with another 15/20/30 LMP/F2/F1 practice session. We would then run the Finale Race 7. To save time, the Qualifying order for Race 7 would be the finishing order of the Rain Make Up race.
Scenario 3:
We completely dump Race 5, eliminating it (and any potential points). The Season would end after Race 7, however only being a 6-race series.
