Motor Cooling Fans in the Formula 1 and Formula 2 Classes | UF1 RC

Motor Cooling Fans in the Formula 1 and Formula 2 Classes | UF1 RC

In this past season, we’ve seen and influx of motor cooling fans. Everyone is trying to eek every bit of horsepower by keeping their motors cool – and it appears this fad is not going away.

This has, however, affected the overall look of the cars. Drivers have been chopping up the bodies quite a bit and it has, in my opinion, taken away from the look of the cars.

So, with the upcoming season, we are allowing motor cooling fans to be used however in both the F1 and F2 classes, the bodies may NOT be over-massaged to get them to fit. As a guideline, the backbone of the body, from the airbox opening to the rear of the car, must be complete. Additional trimming on the sides may be done to allow clearance for the rear pod.

Here is an example of correctly mounted body.

We want the UF1 to continue with the realistic-ish aspect of racing. This rule is an attempt to do so while still progressing the performance of the vehicles.
