UF1 – Under New Ownership

UF1 - Under New Ownership

The UF1 has been an amazing Series to be a part of, travelling to a bunch of different tracks, reaching out to quite a few states, all with the intent of bringing F1 RC to the masses. We’ve seen a ton of progress in this segment – amazing car designs, fancy new electronics and, more recently, competitive body styles and a killer line of tires.

We’ve also seen many big races around the globe use ‘UF1 Rules’, a testament to the amazing Series Mr. Lightfoot started. I’m just proud that I got to be a part of it and, hopefully, helped keep it pointed in the direction he envisioned.

However, all good things must come to an end. It’s been an amazing 11 years since I acquired the UF1 from the man, the myth, the legend. It’s become a bit of a monster to manage and, with the wife and I talking about doing some travelling, I’ve been looking for the right person to take the helm.

With that, I’d like to introduce the new owner of the UF1, Aaron Lane. Aaron comes from and engineering background and is an avid F1 racer. He is a past UF1 Champion, stood on the podium many times last season and was a candidate for the overall Championship win, however something about a honeymoon might have cost him that title LOL 🙂 He’s not afraid to speak up when something seems off (a trait he’s going to need to run this thing) and I honestly feel he’ll be a great asset to the Series.

I will still be helping him with the website, however he’ll be the guy who makes all the decisions and answers all the questions.

Please take a moment and welcome Aaron – I’m sure he’s excited to get this train on the tracks again. We’ll be posting some follow-up info on the updated rules and schedule shortly.

Finally, thanks to all the drivers that have come out to support the UF1. It’s been a really fun ride and I can’t wait to see where it goes. Now, time to get a car together…
